This March, we are going to tell to all of you a story, because we think that every journey needs a story to be told, to be seen, to be understood, to be recognized then to be trusted. Therefore we want to tell you a story. It is a story about a plant, a species, a child of mother nature, hidden behind a story of a brand, a bussiness, a local brand owns a desire of reaching out to the world by our natural & national products – from Vietnam homeland.
Today, people have successfully planted Aquilaria tree in large plantations and stimulate the plant to form Agarwood in a shorter period of time when they reached their age. Thanks to that, Agarwood and Agarwood products can be marketed in more abundant quantity, making the name of Agarwood and incense Agarwood products gradually became familiar to consumers.
To stimulate Aquilaria tree to form Agarwood, planters based on the natural Agarwood forming principle to cause wounds on tree’s trunk. From that, Aquilaria tree produce a kind of uniqua aromatic resin. Through time, the resin become more and more thicker and then form Agarwood.
With the method of stimulating Agarwood tree (Aquilaria Crassan species), Agarwood farmers can take more control over the quality of Agarwood and increase the yield marketed. The quality of cultivation (or plantation) Agarwood is not quite different from wild Agarwood and both type are 100% natural Agarwood.
At Hoang Giang Agarwood, we own a plantation of Aquilaria tree with an area of nearly 50ha and a 20.000m2 production plant with modern equipments in Binh Thuan Province to fully control the quality of input materials to final products.
Cultivation Agarwood is cultivated and transplanted from Aquilaria tree – one of a plant species can produce Agarwood. Cultivation Agarwood is transplant and grown in 10 year-old Aquilaria trees. After being transplanted, it takes about 5 years for the tree to form Agarwood inside its trunk.
After being harvested, Agarwood is separated from other parts of Aquilaria trunk which is usually called as the white wood (or the normal wood). Till there are no white wood attached, those thin slices of Agarwood will become what we call Agarwood chip to be used for incense making of oil distillation. All stages of the process are totally treated by hands of Agarwood artisans, negating the wrong thinks of an industry of Agarwood manufacture & trading.
