Agarwood bakhoor is produced from the pulp of Agarwood mixed with natural glue and water as a binder. The Agarwood powder is then moulded into a small piece which is used to burn to release aroma for living and working space. Agarwood powder used to make bakhoor is pure powder. In order to bind dry powder to create bakhoor, Hoang Giang uses fine powder from the bark of litsea tree mixing with water to make a natural sticky glue.
Currently, Hoang Giang has two types of bakhoor: normal and premium. Normal bakhoor consists of 30% pure agarwood powder (with oil content ~20%), 70% post-distilled powder (with oil content ~1.65%). Premium bakhoor is made from 100% pure Agarwood powder with the richness and sweet of natural Agarwood.

Agarwood bakhoor: directions for use
Preparation: Activated charcoal, Bakhoor, lighter, incense burner.
- Step 1: Burn a lump of activated charcoal until it changes red
- Step 2: Place the burned charcoal into an incense burner
- Step 3: Use a tong to grip 1-2 pieces of bakhoor to put on charcoal. After about 5 seconds, the bakhoor turns red and emits white smoke with pure aroma
- Step 4: Enjoy the light aroma spreads slowly into the air.
Note: Before using a new piece of bakhoor, you should pour out all of the ash, which help the next piece of bakhoor to burn better and billow out more fragrant. Besides, bakhoor can be burned without activated charcoal. With this method, the bakhoor must be placed in an upright position in order to be burned well.
