In the central Vietnam, Aquilaria crassna Pierre is divided into four species: Do bau huong, Do me, Do day and Do bau thuong.

Besides, Aquilaria crassna Pierre is classfied into species like Do bau; Do niet; Do me; Do gach, etc…

The above classification caused difficulty in determining the scientific name of each species. There are scientific disagreements in classification and scientific names. However, the species in Vietnam is Aquilaria crassna Pierre ex Lecomte, which has been favoured by farmers and wide propagated because this species can produce the best quality Agarwood (Oud).
