Hoang Giang Agarwood Chip – Chunk & Grades
Agarwood is formed from wounds inside Aquilaria tree’s trunk. The wound may be caused by external impacts such as ants, trunk breakage, natural disasters, or by human forces,… To heal the wounds, the plant produces a special fragrance resin in order to covered the wounded areas. Years gone by, the healing aroma resin become harden then forms Agarwood inside tree’ trunk, which is extremely precious because the average rate of forming Agarwood in nature is very low.
Hoang Giang Agarwood Chip
After being harvested, Agarwood is separated from other parts of Aquilaria trunk which is usually called as the white wood (or the normal wood). These thin slices of Agarwood when there are no white wood attached will become what we call Agarwood chip with the thickness from 0.5 to 1mm only.
Vietnamese Agarwood (oud) chips grade A 0.5mm is peeled off the injured bark inside Vietnamese aquilaria crassna trees, then treated by skilled artisans. After many hours of carefulness, they turn a rough log into a very thin flat chip totally by hand. The majority of 1 side is resin, with very little white wood left and the other side contains mostly resin (not as much as the first side). Thus, when burning this agar wood on charcoal, you will feel a sweet, earthy, warm aroma with only a bit spicy smoke of ordinary wood.
Hoang Giang Agarwood (oud) chips grade A 0.5mm is made from pure Agarwood , which has been collected after 2 or 3 years from the implantation from the implantation on over-8-year-old aquilaria crassna trees… No fragrance is added to strengthen the scent of the wood, so the smell is natural and soft at room temperature.
Agarwood scent can release stress, banish miasma, and generate elegant space.

Hoang Giang Agarwood Chunk
Hoang Giang Agarwood chunks are high quality Vietnam Agarwood with affordable prices. The Agarwood chunks are manufactured from the highly resinous inside parts of agarwood trees (Aquilaria crassna) grown in our plantation (Binh Thuan province). It can be discovered the intoxicating aroma when burning of these agarwood, sweet woody scent. None of these chunks are pretreated or soaked with oils. Cleaning white wood inside, not sinking because all white wood inside is taken out.
