This March, we are going to tell to all of you a story, because we think that every journey needs a story to be told, to be seen, to be understood, to be recognized then to be trusted. Therefore we want to tell you a story. It is a story about a plant, a species, a child of mother nature, hidden behind a story of a brand, a bussiness, a local brand owns a desire of reaching out to the world by our natural & national products – from Vietnam homeland.
For long time ago, Agarwood has occupied an irreplaceable role in religious beliefs. However, for each religion, Agarwood has a unique meaning. The faithful usually offer Agarwood to their Gods of their beliefs in form of incense or wood piece for burning to relish the scent of this kind of sacred wood and let it’s smoke gently float around the space, as a string connecting the real world and divine realms, carrying wishes of mortal human looking forward to blessing and protection.

Agarwood is mentioned several times in the book called “The Hadith Collection Of Prophecies And Teachings” made by The Prophet Muhammad. Agarwood is not only the scent that The Prophet Muhammad loved and used daily in rituals of Islam, but also a valuable remedy treatment for many diseases.
In Buddhism, Agarwood went into scriptures. According to the Dharma Sutras, good men or women who maintain the Sutras, or recite, or explain, or copy, they will receive eight hundred merits in the nose, can use that nose to smell across the three heavenly realms, enjoy the scent of heaven, especially the smell of Agarwood.
Precious beads of Buddhist monks are also made of Agarwood wood, consisting of 108 beads. It is said that there is a story about high-ranking Buddhist monks traveling throughout the country. Whenever someone is sick, monks use their Agarwood beads to treat the disease. The patient is able to recover by drinking the Agarwood crushed from Agarwood beads in the monk’s rosary.
The rosary is also known as Japa Mala, the most common type has 108 beads, representing the 108 Dharmakaya witnesses that eliminate 108 defilements.
The rite of Agarwood diffusing is mentioned in Christianity at the end of the fourth century, in Jerusalem, when celebrating the Mass waiting for Jesus’ resurrection. In that ritual, people place many pitchers of Agarwood around the altar and burn it so that the sweet, pure fragrance of Agarwood would spread throughout the cathedral.
Since then, incense burning by Agarwood became popular and widely used in many other places. Agarwood is a symbol of purification and protection, an offering to the The Lord, helping to create a spiritual atmosphere of prayer, directing people’s heart to The God.
Today, the image of Agarwood burner placed just under the statue of God or the image of the Pope holding the Agarwood jar leads the faithful are often seen in church rituals.
