• Yellow-brown Kynam (Huỳnh Kỳ): brown-yellow, golden brown, rare and expensive after the green-blue.
• Black Kynam (Hắc Kỳ): indigo black, tar, precious, and expensive after the yellow-brown.

Kynam and Oud are almost the same, how to differentiate?

Although the formation mechanism is the same, in reality, Kynam and Oud are completely different.

Kynam has a sweet fragrance, even if wrapped carefully, it is difficult to hide the fragrant Oud smell. This type of tree core has all the sour, spicy, bitter, and sweet flavors when lit which cannot be found in other types of items.

Meanwhile, Oud is made from the wood of Aquilaria Crassna so it has a lighter scent, usually dark brown or black-brown stripes. Oud has a bitter, light taste so it floats on the surface of the water. When lit, it emits a gentle aroma, the smoke swirls and dissolves quickly in the air.

In terms of medicine, Kynam has very good medicinal uses in oriental medicine. Eliminates japonica, is used as a medicine to relieve fever and eliminate malaria, treat urinary tract diseases, etc.
